More about Marla
Marla is a shy, sensitive Dachshund who is currently based at Battersea Old Windsor.
She is looking to live a quiet life as she has not had much exposure to the real world and will need time to come out of her shell at her own pace. She is looking for new owners who can put the time and patience into her care.
Marla can be initially worried when meeting you for the first time but a great way to make friends with her is by offering her some treats, especially cheese (it’s her favourite treat!) Once she knows you, she does like to climb into your lap and enjoy a gentle fuss.
She hasn’t had much interaction with other dogs and does find more interactive, playful dogs very worrying. As she is still working on her social skills and does have an independent nature, she needs to be the only dog in the house at this time.
Marla has spent some time in a temporary foster home and is described as being a lover of the sofa, she likes to make her blankets into the perfect bed to sleep on. She loves head scratches and travels well in the car. She is really finding her feet and day by day grows in confidence.
Marla would make a rewarding, loving companion and with time and patience, her loving personality will begin to shine through.
